Eugene (Gene) Cummings

2010 Hall of Fame Inductee - Former Student Athlete

Eugene (Gene) Cummings was a member of the EJC track team in 1963 and 1964. He won six state championships for EJC and broke the national Junior College record in the 1500 meter event. During his time here, he was never beaten in the mile or 880. Gene still holds the EvCC records for the marathon (2:17:24), the 1500 meter (3:48.1) and the mile (4:11.8). He went on to run at Brigham Young University where he was an All-American and an NCAA Division I National Champion in the 1500m.
