1953, 1954, 1955 Trojan Golf Teams

Three golf teams were selected to enter the Hall of Fame in the class of 2013. This three-year run of state championship teams produced several of the finest golfers to ever come out of the area, including state medalists Bob Whisman and Art Abrahamson. Coached by Harry Simmermacher, these three teams each won the state title. Abrahamson was the state medalist two times (1954 and 1955) and Whisman earned that honor in 1953. The teams were rarely defeated during these seasons, and many of the players continued to play at the university level. Team members include Don Erickson, Don Lehman, Ed Morrow, Bob Whisman, Van Wilson, Del Bland, Ken Brydges, Miles O’Dell, Art Abrahamson, Jim Cole, Rodney Williams, Bob Brill, Jim Buselt, Gordon Carpenter, John Heller and Ken Mundy.
