Coach Jim Elsner

Jim began his Everett Community College coaching tenure as an assistant coach in 1984-85. He worked with newly hired head basketball coach Mike Donchey to re-establish a program that had been on hiatus for two years, and successfully recruited players to join and rebuild the program. He continued as the assistant under Larry Walker until 1999. Elsner lost his battle with cancer that year; the following year the Everett Community College Inspiration and Dedication Award was created and named in his honor. The award is a tribute to Elsner and all he meant to the athletes and coaches whose lives he touched.
