Season Ends in Longview Top 8

Longview, WA - The 2025 campaign came to an end on Friday morning after a tough loss to the #1 East Region Seed, Spokane.  The loss came on day two of the tournament after an opening day loss to South #2 Umpqua, ending the season earlier than the Trojans expected.

In the final game of the season, starting pitcher Blake Sandvik went six scoreless innings, scattering six hits and striking out three batters. Unfortunately, the Trojan offense which had been solid all season was unable to break through in the run column.  EvCC had runners in scoring position in three of the first six innings, with the best scoring opportunity coming in the 5th inning with the bases loaded and only one out.  Spokane's starting pitcher worked out of the jam with a pop up and a flyout to hold the Trojans scoreless.

Everett's bullpen, one of the best in the NWAC had an uncharacteristic outing that could not be overcome.  Spokane scored three runs in the 7th and another three in the 9th to seal the win and end Everett's season.

Despite the dissapointing ending, the season was filled with accomplishments and individual accolades.  The 39 wins is tied for the most in EvCC program history and 262 drawn walks, and 181 stolen bases are the highest totals in program history.  The 2025 pitching staff also recorded the most strikeouts in program history (469) and the 4th lowest ERA (2.70).  It was the program's 7th north region title in the past nine seasons, finishing in the NWAC Top 8 in as many seasons.

Ten Trojans received post season accolades.  Blake Sandvik, Cooper McBride, Axel Puls, Jake Lockwood, and Baylor Hill were named Second Team All Region.  Basil Hendrix, Adison Mattix, Nathan Harb, Colin Beazizo, Max Paterson, and Talan Zenk were named First Team All Region, while Micah Coleman was named North Region Position Player of the Year, and Head Coach Keith Hessler was named North Region Coach of the Year.

Twenty sophomores finished out their career at EvCC, many of which are transferring on to continue their college playing careers.  Micah Coleman tied a single season hits record at EvCC, recording 66. Cal Pickhardt tied a single season record for walks drawn at 39, and freshman Talan Zenk set a new single season record for stolen bases (33).  Both Colin Beazizo and Max Paterson tied for second in single season batting average .381.  And both Basil Hendrix and Adison Mattix tied for 5th all time at EvCC for single season strikeouts (76).
