The Trojans entered Saturday night with the hope of securing a spot in the NWAC playoffs. A win over rivals Edmonds CC would do just that, and the mission was accomplished when the final horn sounded with a 101-96 point victory.
The Trojans completed the first half of North Region play on Wednesday night going a perfect 7-0 thanks to a gutsy performance on the road and coming out with a 110-108 double overtime victory.
The Trojans set out on Wednesday night to do something that hasn't been done since the 2012-2013 season, and that is start off conference play at 3-0. That goal was accomplished after an 88-76 win over Shoreline CC.
After a brief return home in which the Trojans cruised to a 109-91 win over then 7-1 Clackamas CC, Everett was back on the road for the NWAC Crossover Tournament hosted by Walla Walla CC.
Everett was back at it on Wednesday night, again on the road traveling to Des Moines for a matchup against 3-1 Highline College. Both teams entered the contest coming off of wins, the Trojans in a 123-89 drubbing over Yakima Valley and the Thunderbirds in a defensive battle in which they came out on top of Olympic College 70-67.
In their second pre season tournament of this young 2018-2019 season, the Trojans got to face national caliber teams at the Treasure Valley Invitational Tournament in Ontario, OR this past weekend. Two Division I (full scholarship) NJCAA teams faced were Utah State Eastern and Snow College, both out of Utah.
Just one day after Thanksgiving, the Trojans hit the road and traveled south to Longview for the 32nd annual Red Devil Classic hosted by Lower Columbia College. Everett has been attending this tournament for much of those 32 years, last season advancing to the championship game where they fell 71-60 to Spokane in the Championship game.
Looking to bounce back from their first loss of the season, the Trojans took on Green River who is coming off a big win over Edmonds with a final score of 90-62.
