5th in a Row For the Trojans

EvCC Men's Basketball left Bremerton with their 5th straight North Region win, to go 5-0 in conference play for the first time in recent history.  The NWAC RPI ranked #1 team got off the bus hot and jumped out early lead on the Rangers to open up the game with a 10-2 lead.  The host school, despite trailing by as much as ten in the first half, was able to come all the way back to within one at 27-26 with five minutes to play before the break. Everett had an answer and finished the half strong on an 11-5 run lead by Markieth Brown Jr. who accounted for nine of those eleven points.

The second half was dominated by the Trojans who continued to gradually build their lead and shot lights out from beyond the arc, going 7 of 13, Markieth Brown Jr. going 4-5 himself and finishing with 30 total points.  Freshman forward Magnus Jespersen controlled the interior collecting 17 total rebounds and 18 points. Phalon Maddox also had a solid game with 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Everett remains in sole possession of first place in the North Region standings, and will host 3-1 Peninsula College on Saturday at the Walt Price Center on Larry Walker Court.  The Pirates advanced to the NWAC championship game last season, but return no players from last years team.  Still, the 18-19 Pirates look to be a tough team and rank as the North's #1 defensive team allowing 71.6 points per game.

Tip off is scheduled for 6pm.
