MBB Offers Free Youth Clinic

EvCC men's basketball players rebounding for youth basketball players who are shooting.

Everett Community College Men's Basketball program hosted a free 2-hour basketball clinic for area youth on Saturday.  The clinic was attended by over 30 boys and girls from all over Snohomish County from Lake Stevens, Everett, Snohomish, Marysville, and Tulalip, ranging from ages or 7 to 16.  The clinic aimed at the idea of getting out and having fun, while knocking the rust off the game to help kids prepare for the upcoming basketball season.

Everett CC Men's Basketball players hosted the event and led the campers in 7 different skills stations working on all parts of the game.  Once the skill portion was over, campers participated in a couple games of "Snakes in the Weeks", a common popular dribbling game where campers try to dribble their ball through a field of snakes (Everett CC Men's Basketball Players) to safety.  The clinic finished up with some live play and a closing discussion about #EverettWay and what that means to the Everett CC Men's Basketball Team.  All campers received a bracelet reminding them that when wearing the #EverettWay bracelet, they work extra hard to play fair, treat people well, be helpful in class, be awesome teammates, and try their best on the basketball floor and in the classroom.
