Bellingham, WA - Freshman Jake Howe and sophomore Devin Smith combine for 53 points in the huge 92-65 win over Whatcom CC.  The win comes 17 days after the Trojans hosted WCC in a thrilling one point ball game in which EvCC emerged victorious after freshman Brycen Dillworth hit 3 consecutive free throws with 2 seconds remaining on the clock to put Everett up 69-68.  A last second, half-court heave by Whatcom went in as time expired, but after video review it was confirmed that the shot did not get off in time.

Everett flexed their muscles early, jumping out to a 13-4 lead, but Whatcom settled in and responded with a run of their own outscoring EvCC 12-2 and reclaimed the lead.  The Trojans stopped the bleeding on a Brendon Redford three point shot with 11 minutes to play in the half.  That bucket putting the Trojans back on top just so happened to be the last time that Whatcom would have a lead.  Everett would outshoot Whatcom 44.4% to 29.7% in the half and take a, eleven point lead into the break.

The Trojans continued to shoot the ball very well in the second half (50% from the floor), and the closest Whatcom would get is within ten points.  Jake Howe hit his 7th three of the game with just under three minutes to play, stretching the lead out to 28 and the largest of the game for EvCC.  Howe finished the game with 32 points (season high) and now has 23, three pointers on the year (tied for the most in the NWAC).  Devin Smith had one of his best games of the season with 21 points and 14 rebounds, recording his 3rd double double of the season and 17th of his career.  Smith also leads the NWAC in rebounds with 79 total on the year.  Brycen Dillworth recorded 11 assists, his highest total on the season and added 8 points.  Brendon Redford turned in another solid performance with 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assits.

The Trojans improve to 4-2 on the season and will play next on the road at Edmonds on April 28th.
