Trojans Capitalize on Short-handed Tritons

After a successful preseason, The Trojans opened North Region play again rival Edmonds Community College, a team that they bested three times last season.  The game began with a fast pace, with both teams threatening to get the first goal of the game, but the landscape of the game would change in the 14th minute when Edmonds goalkeeper Colin Houser was sent off with a red card after colliding with a Trojan forward outside of the penalty box.

Everett would need just five minutes before they could orchestrate an attack that would lead to the first goal of the game, scored by freshman Cade Cooke (2nd of the season).  EvCC would go on to dominate possession and six minutes later, in the 28th minute sophomore Kyle Sandoval would find the back of the net to put the Trojans up 2-0.

In the second half, head coach Erik Cruz went deep into his bench, substituting in another 11 players.  Dullo Jallow was one of those players that would score in the second half continuing his reputation for coming off the bench to apply instant pressure on the opposing defense.  He scored his 4th goal of the season, finding the back of the net in 3 of the first 6 games.  Sophomore forward and Marysville Pilchuck alum, Siloe Galvan would record his first goal of the 2018 campaign in the 68th minute, and would also put the icing on the cake in the 83rd minute with a second goal.

The 5-0 victory is the second shutout of the season for the Trojan defense and freshman goalkeeper Gabriel Acosta.  EvCC will return to action on Wednesday, in an attempt to go 2-0 in North Region play when they host NWAC powerhouse Peninsula College.  Kickoff is set for 3:30pm.
