Everett Holds Off Shoreline

Three goals within 4 minutes in the second half sealed the 5-2 win over North Region Opponent Shoreline CC on Saturday afternoon.  The win comes off of back to back losses for the first time this year for the Trojans and a much needed 3 points was earned to keep pace for first place in the North Region Standings.

Shoreline (0-9 in regional play) took the early lead with a goal in the 10th minute, but after settling in the Trojans tied the game in the 19th minute with a goal from Cascade High grad, Jeremy Lucas, his first collegiate goal.  Seven minutes later Shoreline was called for a hand ball in the penalty box which resulted in a converted penalty kick for Dullo Jallow, scoring his 6th goal on the season.

EvCC went into the half with the 2-1 lead that was eventually erased in the 61st minute by another Dolphin goal.  However the Trojans held their composure and kept the pressure on the Shoreline defense.  Mamadi Sarr connected on a brilliant strike off of a free kick from 30 yards out for his 2nd goal of the season in the 74th minute.  Three minutes later sophomore Siloe Galvan collected a long ball from goalkeeper Cameron Beardsley and in two touches hooked the ball inside the far post.  Then just a minute later, Mamadi would do it again off of a free kick, this time from the opposite side of the field and just outside the 18, bending it inside the far post to seal the win.

The Trojans improve their north region record to 6-3-0, tying last seasons overall win total of 9 games.  They currently sit two points outside of second place in the north, and three points outside of 1st.  They travel to Skagit Valley this week on Wednesday, and will start the final third of the north region schedule at home on Saturday vs Edmonds.
