Stumble on the Road

Men's soccer dropped a tough one on the road to Skagit Valley in an offensive bout that left the Cardinals with a one goal advantage, 4-3.  Aaron (Gregor) Byrne scored his 9th goal of the season, placing him currently 6th in the NWAC among all goal scorers.  Freshman Marcos Arellano from Monroe scored his 3rd goal of the season, his first since netting two against Bellevue back on August 29th.  Another freshman Dullo Jallow from Mariner scored his 7th goal of the season, tied for 13th in the NWAC among all goal scorers.

The game was tied 2-2 at the half, but it would be the Cardinals that would take control with two staight goals to take a 4-2 advantage.  The Trojans would find a goal late in the 81st minute, but despite 8 shots on goal from the Trojans (2 from Siloe Galvan), they were not able to capitalize.  Freshman goalkeeper for EvCC Cameron Beardsley recorded 8 saves.

The loss pushes the Trojans to now 6 points behind first place Whatcom, and five points behind 2nd place Peninsula.  EvCC will look to bounce back in the final third of North Region play, this Saturday at home versus rival Edmonds CC, a team they have already defeated twice this season.
