Everett, WA - Head men's soccer coach Erik Cruz became the all time winningest men's soccer coach in the 42-year program history. Last week with wins over Edmonds and Shoreline he reached the 31 win mark in his three and a half years as head men's soccer coach. The previous record was 29 wins set by Erik's predecessor (and former coach) Scott Willsie who coached at Everett CC for 8 seasons.
Setting aside his first year in which he won 2 games after taking over the program that won 1 game the previous year, Erik won 9 games in 2017, 12 games last season (the most in program history in one season), and has already won 8 games this year with 8 left to play in the regular season. He has taken Everett to the playoffs in two out of three seasons.
Prior to becoming the head men's soccer coach Erik was an assistant coach on the 2014 Everett CC women's soccer team that won the NWAC Championship and he was a former player here at EvCC back in 2008-2009.
Erik is one of three EvCC alumni who are currently head coaches for the Trojans (JoJo Howie-baseball and Mike Trautman-men's basketball).
