In what turned out to be the game of the year in all of NWAC soccer, the Everett Trojan's incredible season came to an end on Saturday afternoon after an epic penalty kick shootout that lasted 13 rounds.  To survive 20 minutes of overtime on the road, against the #1 seed from the east region Columbia Basin College, was a feat of in itself.  With the score tied at 1-1, freshman Jacob Woodward received a second yellow and was sent off in the 90th minute, forcing the Trojans to finish regulation with 10 men on the field.  Despite the disadvantage, the Everett defense did not allow a single shot in the first overtime period, and held the Hawks to just one shot on goal in the second overtime.  They dominated most of the possession and even generated a shot of their own from Nahor Asso that sailed just over the crossbar. 

With the score still locked at 1-1, the match would be decided by penalty kicks. After 25 nerve racking minutes and 26 total attempts the home team would eventually prevail sending them to the final four in Tukwila, WA.

Though the season ended sooner than anyone had hoped, it was still a record setting year for the Trojans.  With an overall record of 13-5-4, the 13 wins is the most in program history.  Head coach Erik Cruz became the all time winningest coach in EvCC men's soccer history, currently at 36 wins, freshman Manuel Segura set the single season assist record at EvCC with 10 on the year, and sophomore goalkeeper Cameron Beardsley set the EvCC career saves record with 123 saves.

Several Trojans also received post season accolades.    Manuel Segura, Nahor Asso, and Cade Cooke were named to the NWAC All Region team, and Mamadi Sarr was named North Region Most Valuable Player.
