Men's Soccer News 2016

 

Results vs North Idaho (8/27) - The Trojan Men's Soccer Team ending their game with North Idaho College in a 2-2 tie.  NIC got on the board first with a goal by Muganza Katanga in the 8th minute, which was the only goal in the first half. One minute into the second half, NIC's Garrett Flolo scored their second goal to make it a 2-0 game until the 62nd minute when Ariaan Cardenas scored the Trojans first goal. Eight minutes later with an assist from Baldemar Martinez, Cardenas scored again for the Trojans to tie the game. Everett Keeper Daniel Camplejohn had 10 saves and North Idaho Keeper Garrett Boyce had 5 saves. Everett is now 0-0-1 overall and North Idaho College is 0-0-1 overall. 

 

Results vs Wenatchee Valley (8/30) - Until the second half that the Trojans were able to score, in the 65th minute by Carlos Dacunha, the 71st minute by Cristian Correa with the assist from Baldemar Martinez, and the 85th minute Baldemar Martinez on the assist from Zach Troupe. Trojan Keeper Daniel Camplejohn had 3 saves while the two saves (Miguel Alvarez 6 & Alex Sanabria 2). Everett Men are now 1-0-1 overall and Wenatchee Valley is 1-1-0 overall. 

 

Results vs South Puget Sound CC (9/7) - The Men's Soccer team traveled to the RAC (Regional Athletic Complex in Olympia, WA on Wednesday, September 7th to play a non-league game with the South Puget Sound CC Clippers. The game began at 6:00pm and in the 22nd minute, the Clippers scored first with a goal by Juan Vega. In the 31st minute, Clipper Coby Castillo scored to make it 2-0 going into half time. In the second half, Trojan Ariaan Cardenas scored in the 59th minute and again in the 85th minute to tie the game up. It finished in a 2-2 tie. Trojan Keeper Daniel Camplejohn had 5 saves and Clipper Keeper Payton White had 8 saves. Everett is now 1-0-2 overall and South Puget Sound is 0-2-2 overall.

 

Results vs Edmonds (9/10) - The Men's game began at 2:15pm and 6:37 into the game Triton Mohamed Elmoghrbi scored their first goal. About 7 minutes later, on the assist from Lamin Dampha, Hector Palomera scored the Tritons 2nd goal. Then at 42:41, Elmoghrbi scored his second goal and the Tritons third goal on the assist from Edgar Navarro to make it a 3-0 lead going into half time. It wasn't until 67:45 that the Tritons scored their fourth and final goal, with Elmoghrbi getting his third goal of the game. Unfortunately, the Trojans were unable to score and the Tritons won 4-0. Trojan Keeper Daniel Camplejohn had 7 saves and with 6 saves, Triton Keeper John Seymour recorded the shutout. Everett Men are now 0-1-0 in league and 1-1-2 overall with 0 points, 7 goals for and 9 goals against. Edmonds Men are now 1-0-0 in league and 4-1-0 overall with 3 points, 13 goals for, 8 goals against and 2 shutouts.

 

Results vs Peninsula College (9/14) - The Men's Game started at 4:15pm and was scoreless until 34:40 when Everett's Jason Bradbury scored. At 39:02 Everett's Ariaan Cardenas scored to make it 2-0 and that was how the first half ended. During the second half, the Pirates came alive and scored their first goal at 50:15 by Jose Soto. Their second goal came in at 66:25 from Juan Carrillo to tie the game. The Pirates go ahead goal was by Salvador Vargas at 70:51. At 77:15 the Pirates took a two goal lead with the goal by Adrain Benitez. The final goal of the game was scored by Kevin Medina of Peninsula at 81:21. The Pirates won 5-2. Trojan Keeper Daniel Camplejohn had 7 saves and Pirate Keepers Sergio Uribe and Brannon Dwyer each had 1 save. Everett Men are now 0-0-2 (win-tie-loss) in league and 1-2-2 overall with 9 goals for and 14 goals against. Results vs Whatcom CC (9/17) -  The Men's game was interesting, as it had 2 PK's (penalty kicks) in it. The first goal was scored in the 7th minute by Whatcom's Simon Tecle. Three minutes later, Elijah Smith on the pass from Derek Kuhn scored the Orcas second goal. While 17 minutes later, Smith got the assist on the goal by Kuhn. Then right before halftime, Everett was able to get on the board with a goal by Baldemar Martinez on the assist from Carlos Dacunha.  At halftime, Whatcom lead 3-1. In the 52nd minute, Dacunha scored on the assist from Terrence Miller to cut the Orcas lead to one goal. Unfortunately for Everett, it wouldn't stay that way for long. In the 58th minute, Orca Chay Mattes scored on the assist from Alain Murhula to take back the 2 goal lead, 4-2. Jordi Castro made it 5-2 for Whatcom in the 70th minute and in the 87th minute, Murhula scored on the assist from Marco Solis to make it 6-2. Whatcom won. Trojan Keepers Daniel Camplejohn & Zach Gudakov each had 3 saves and Orca Keeper Manuel Mendez had 3 saves. Everett Men are now 0-0-3 in league and 1-2-3 overall with 11 goals for and 20 goals against. Whatcom Men are now 3-0-0 in league and 4-0-1 overall with 9 points, 15 goals for, 4 goals against and 2 shutouts.

 

Results vs Shoreline (9/21) - The Men's league game began at 2:15pm. Trojan Victor Ramirez was able to score at 6:12. It stayed 1-0 for Everett until there was a penalty in the box which resulted in a PK (penalty kick) at 20:52, that was taken by Shoreline's Callahan Gobel and was good. The first half ended in a 1-1 tie. That tie only lasted about 3 minutes into the second half when Dolphin Angel Alcaraz scored at 47:50. The final was Everett 1 Shoreline 2. Trojan Keeper Daniel Camplejohn had 9 saves and Dolphin Keeper Dean Bartlett had 8 saves. Trojan Men are now 0-0-4 (win-tie-loss) in league and 1-2-4 overall with 12 goals for and 22 goals against. Dolphin Men are now 1-0-3 in league and 2-0-4 overall with 3 points, 9 goals for and 14 goals against.

 

Results vs Skagit Valley College (9/24) - The Men's game started at 2:15pm. This game went back and forth all game, as Trojan Keeper Daniel Camplejohn had 13 saves and Cardinal Keeper Rapheal Jimenez had 9 saves. The Trojans scored first with a goal at 37:00 by Baldemar Martinez on the assist from Ariaan Cardenas. The Cardinals tied the game up in the second half on the goal by Fredy Ruiz on the assist from Baruc Galvan. When the game ended, both teams had only scored 1 - tie game! Trojan Men are now 0-1-4 (win-tie-loss) in league and 1-3-4 overall with 1 point, 13 goals for and 23 goals against. Cardinal Men are now 2-1-2 in league and 4-1-2 overall with 7 points, 12 goals for, 13 goals against and 2 shutouts. 

 

Results vs Edmonds CC (9/28) - The Men's game that started at 6:15pm only had two goals, both in the second half. The first goal was by Everett's Jason Bradbury in the 54th minute with the assist from Zach Troupe. In the 70th minute, the other goal was scored and unfortunately, it was by Everett but in their own goal, so Edmonds got the score. The game ended in a 1-1 tie. Trojan Keeper Zach Gudakov had 4 saves and Triton Keeper Isaac Ensz had 2 saves. Everett Men are now 0-2-4 (win-tie-loss) in league and 1-4-4 overall with 2 points, 14 goals for and 24 goals against. Edmonds Men are now 3-2-1 in league and 6-2-2 overall with 11 points, 18 goals for, 15 goals against and 3 shutouts.

 

Results vs Peninsula College (10/1) - The Men's game started at 2:15pm and 14 minutes into the game Everett scored their only goal of the game by Zach Troupe on the assist from Jonathan Martinez.  The Pirates scored their first goal in the 23rd minute by Juan Carrillo and the second goal at the 41st minute by Jose Soto on the assist from Carrillo. Pirates led 2-1 at halftime. In the 48th minute, Everett scored on their own goal to give the Pirates a 3-1 lead. In the 62nd minute, Cesar Gervacio scored on the assist from Jason Ramos to make it 4-1. Joey Holleman on the assist from Gervacio scored in the 68th minute making it 5-1. The Pirates scored their 6th & final goal in the 72nd minute on a goal from Gervacio on the assist from Soto. Trojan Keeper Zach Gudakov had 7 saves and Pirate Keeper Brannon Dwyer had 3 saves. Everett Men are now 0-2-5 (win-tie-loss) in league and 1-4-5 overall with 2 points, 15 goals for and 30 goals against. Peninsula Men are now 7-0-0 in league and 9-1-0 overall with 21 points, 39 goals for, 11 goals against and 4 shutouts.

 

 

Results vs Whatcom CC (10/5) - Men's game started at 4:15pm and at 13:01, Orca Elijah Smith scored on the assist from Eridan Neithardt-Smith. That was the only goal in the first half. In the second half, Smith scored the Orcas second goal at 54:02 on the assist from Nathan Sanders and then about 10 minutes later at 64:38, Smith assisted Jerry Merveille on the Orcas third and final goal. Whatcom wins 3-0. Trojan Keeper Zach Gudakov had 5 saves and Orcas Keeper Ryan Peters had 5 saves. Everett Men are now 0-2-6 (win-tie-loss) in league and 1-4-56 overall with 2 points, 15 goals for, and 33 goals against. Results vs Shoreline CC (10/8) - In the Men's game that began at 2:15pm, it was definitely an Dolphin Day! There was no goals scored in the first half until the 38th minute and that was by Shoreline's Angel Alcaraz on the assist from Noe Allen. After halftime, in the 48th minute, Tim Schneider for the Dolphins scored on the assist from Alcaraz. Five minutes later the Dolphins Callahan Gobel scored in the 53rd minute to make it 3-0. Then in back to back goals in the 68th (Austin Burton) & 69th minutes (Allen from Burton), Shoreline made it a 5-0 game. The Trojans were able to stop a shutout when Elias Abrego scored in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, that was Everett's only goal, yet the Dolphins weren't done. Cristian O'Reilly scored their 6th and final goal in the 82nd minute. Everett's Keeper Zach Gudakov had 7 saves and Shoreline's Keeper Steven Moseley had 9 saves. Everett Men are now 0-2-7 (win-tie-loss) in league and 1-4-7 overall with 2 points, 16 goals for and 39 goals against. Shoreline Men are now 4-0-5 in league and 5-0-6 overall with 12 points, 20 goals for, 24 goals against and 1 shutout.

 

Results vs Skagit Valley (10/12) - The Men's game started at 4:15pm and neither team was able to score in the first half. Everett took the lead in the second half in the 55th minute on a goal by Baldemar Martinez on the assist from Carlos Dacunha. Martinez scored again in the 62nd minute to take a 2-0 lead. Skagit responded in the 76th minute on a goal by Christian Zavala, who also scored to tie the game in the 90th minute. Game ended in a 2-2 tie. Trojan Keeper Zachary Gudakov had 15 saves and Cardinal Keeper Raphael Jimenez had 12 saves. Everett Men are now 0-7-3 (win-loss-tie) in league and 1-7-5 overall with 3 points, 18 goals for and 41 goals against. Skagit Valley Men are now 1-6-3 in league and 3-6-3 overall with 6 points, 15 goals for, 26 goals against and 2 shutouts.

 

Trojan Soccer splits with Edmonds CC 10/17 - The Men's game started at 4:15pm and at almost six minutes into the game the first goal was scored by Edmonds Mohamed ElMoghrbi on the assist from Edgar Navarro at 5:54. Everett answered with their first goal at 25:25 by Carlos Dacunha on the assist from Terrence Miller. ElMoghrbi answered at 27:00 on the assist from Shefiff Contato give Edmonds the 2-1 lead. At 31:00, Trojan Steven Zeka tied the game up at 2-2 with the assist from Quinn Lewis. Half time was tied 2-2. The Tritons took the 3-2 lead on another goal by ElMoghrbi at 63:32 on the assist from Pablo Sedano. They took a 2 goal lead, 4-2 on the unassisted goal by Vlad Kutsyy at 66:58. About ten minutes later, Everett cut the lead to 1, 3-4 pm the goal by Victor Ramierez, assisted by Baldemar Martinez. Unfortunately, Everett wasn't able to score again and so with the score 4-3 Edmonds won. Trojan Keeper Zach Gudakov had 5 saves and Triton Keeper Isaac Ensz had 7 saves. Everett Men are now 0-8-3 in league and 1-8-5 overall with 3 points, 21 goals for and 45 goals against. Edmonds Men are now 4-4-3 in league and 7-5-3 overall with 15 points, 28 goals for, 25 goals against and 4 shutouts. 

 

 

 

Results vs Peninsula College (10/19) - The Men's game started at 4:15pm and before the second minute of the game, the Pirates had two shots on goal and one was a goal. The goal was made by Cesar Gervacio on the assist from Miguel Valderrama at 1:47. The Trojans held off the Pirates until 21:34, when they scored their second goal by Saul Araiza. The score at half time was 2-0 in favor of Peninsula. The second half had the Pirates scoring their third goal at 58:55 from Kevin Medina on the assist from Gervacio. At 75:12 & 79:10 the Pirates Jose Soto scored their fourth and fifth goals both from Medina. Peninsula won the game 5-0. Trojan Keeper, Zach Gudakov had 10 saves and Pirate Keeper Brannon Dwyer had 3 saves. Trojan Men are now 0-12-0 in league and 1-12-2 overall with 21 goals for and 50 goals against.

 

 

Results vs Whatcom CC (10/22) - The Men's game, was the opposite of the Women's, as there were no goals scored in the first half so it was 0-0 at half time. Then one minute into the second half the one and only goal of the game was made by Everett's Victor Ramirez on the assist from Terrance Miller. Everett won 1-0. Trojan Keeper Zach Gudakov recorded the shutout and had 5 saves while Orca Keeper Ryan Peters had 4 saves. Everett Men are now 1-12-0 in league and 2-12-2 overall with 3 points, 22 goals for, 50 goals against and 1 shutout. Whatcom Men are now 8-3-2 in league and 9-4-2 overall with 26 points, 31 goals for, 13 goals against and 6 shutouts.

 

Results vs Shoreline CC (10/26) - The Mud Bowl of 2016 took place today, when the Trojans played league soccer games at Shoreline CC. The Men's game there was no goal scored until the 32nd minute on a goal by Shoreline's Terrell Norris. That was the only goal in the first half. Two minute into the second half, Shoreline added to their score on a goal by Noe Ellen on the assist from Rei Ito. The game stayed 2-0 until the 71st minute when Everett's Ismael Ochoa scored to make it 2-1 in favor of Shoreline. Then in the 82nd, 83rd & 84th minutes, there were three goals scored - 2 by Shoreline (83rd Angel Alcaraz; 84th John Crate/Alcaraz) and 1 by Everett (Jonathan Martinez/Baldemar Martinez). At the end of 90 minutes, Shoreline had the 2 goal lead to win 4-2. Trojan Keeper Zach Gudakov had 4 saves and Dolphin Keeper Steven Moseley had 6 saves. Everett Men are now 1-13-0 in league and 2-13-2 overall with 3 points, 24 goals for, 54 goals against and 1 shutout. Shoreline Men are now 5-9-0 in league and 6-10-0 overall with 15 points, 26 goals for, 43 goals against and 1 shutout.

 

Results vs Skagit Valley (10/29) - The final regular league soccer games of the 2016 season took place on Saturday, October 29th when the Trojans hosted the Cardinals of Skagit Valley College. The Men's game started at 2:15pm, and only 1:42 into the game the first goal was scored and it was by Trojan Ariaan Cardenas on the assist from Carlos Dacunha. It was a back and forth game from there and at 39:16 Everett scored their second goal by Dacunha. The Cardinals were able to score off of a penalty kick by Frank Medina at 43:38. At half time Trojans led 2-1. The second half had the Cardinals pressing forward with them tying the game up 2-2 on a goal by Kameron Donohoe at 52:52. The at 71:25, the Trojans went down one man on the field for the remainder of the game due to one player getting his second yellow card in the game which equals a red card and is then disqualified. About three minutes later, at 74:31, the Cardinals took the lead on a goal by Fredy Ruiz. The Trojans were unable to score again and Skagit won 3-2. Trojan Keeper Zachary Gudakov had 9 saves and Cardinal Keeper Raphael Jimenez had 5 saves. Everett finishes the 2016 season 1-14-0 in league and 2-14-2 overall with 3 points, 26 goals for, 57 goals against and 1 shutout. Skagit Valley finishes with a 6-8-1 league record  and 8-8-1 overall record with 19 points, 24 goals for, 33 goals against and 3 shutouts. Neither Everett or Skagit's Men will continue in the playoffs this year.
