Megan Dedrick Signs with LMU

Freshman Shortstop, and North Region MVP Megan Dedrick signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball next season at Division I Loyola Marymount University.  Last season, LMU finished second in the West Coast Conference Standings and receieved a bid to the 26 team National Invitational Softball Championship Tournament where the Lions won 6 of 7 games and ultimately won the NISC Championship.

Dedrick played in her first season of softball ever in 2018, having only played baseball growing up, and competing on Everett High Schools varsity baseball team.  She made the adjustment to the fastpitch game quickly and became one of the top hitters in the NWAC.  She hit .494 with 14 doubles, 4 triples, 11 home runs, and 48 RBI's.  Additionally her outstanding play in the field earned her North Region MVP honrs, All-American status and led the Trojans to a top 6 finish at the NWAC Championship tournament.  Megan was also a member of the National USA Women's baseball team from 2014-2016.

LMU head coach, Sami Strinz-Ward had this to say about Megan: "She is from a baseball family and has grown up playing baseball. She is very sound fundamentally and has an amazing growth mindset. Megan potentially fills a hole for us at shortstop left by Lindsey Matoi. She wants to learn and be pushed, and will be a great help to our team."
