It was a tall task for any NWAC team to face this past weekend as the Trojans faced #3 ranked Douglas on the road Friday evening and then had to turn around and host the #1 ranked NWAC team in the Bellevue College Bulldogs.  The #3 and #1 ranked team also happen to be the #2 and #1 ranked team in the NWAC in total runs scored this season (respectively) and the Trojans were not immune to the offensive firepower.   In four games, EvCC gave up an average of 9.3 runs per game, however despite all the runs, Everett came away from the tough weekend lineup with a win, and much needed points towards the RPI ranking system which is utilized to determine playoff entry and seeding.

Game 1 vs Douglas, 9-0 Loss

  • Megan Parsley went 2 for 3 marking her 10th multiple hit game on the season

Game 2 vs Douglas, 9-6 Win

  • Alyson Roberson went 2 for 5 with a double and 2 RBI's
  • Ciara Harding went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 RBI's
  • Megan Parsley went 2 for 5 with a with a triple and 2 RBI's
  • Cathy Zaragoza went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's
  • Mackenzie Castle pitched all 7 innings and also went 3 for 3 at the plate including a double

Game 1 vs Bellevue, 12-0 Loss

Game 2 vs Bellevue, 10-1 Loss

Everett currently sits at 2-8 in North Region play and 14th (Top 16 qualify for post season play) in the RPI rankings, but has already faced the three top teams in Bellevue, Edmonds, and Douglas so the schedule should lighten up over the next couple weeks.  The young Trojan squad saw the best the NWAC has to offer this past weekend, which should build confidence heading into this week with scheduled games at Pierce College on Wednesday and Shoreline this coming weekend on Sunday.
