Runs, Runs, Runs

Runs, Runs, Runs

Yakima, WA - The Trojans traveled east last weekend for more fall scrimmages, this time a pair of double headers facing Wenatchee Valey College on Saturday and Yakima Valley College on Sunday.  Runs were certainly aplenty as the Trojans combined for 65 runs over the weekend.

Game 1 against Wenatchee Valley saw EvCC winning by a score of 8-2 over the scrappy Knights. The Trojans were led by Cami Horner's 3 for3 performance with 2dbl's, and 1 run. Jordyn Lono went 2 for3 with a home run and 2RBIs and sophomore Megan Parsley add a 2 for 3 ball game with 1 run scored. Cat Zaragosa held the WVC  hitters in check with a solid 7 innings of work.

The bats really came alive in game 2 and Everett pounded out 21 hits in a 15-4 victory. Team leaders were Ciara Harding 3 for 4 with 2 runs, Mele Turner 3 for 4 with 3 runs and 2 RBI's, Brittnee Harvill went 3 for 4 with 1 run and 1 RBI and Cahl Horner went 3 for 4 with 1 run scored. Mele Turner went the distance in the circle with a strong 7 inning performance.

The Trojan offense traveled with them as they left Wenatchee on the 100 mile drive south to Yakima on Sunday.  The first game had the Trojans blistering the Yaks pitching staff for 19 hits in a 24-14 5 inning win. Everett's hit parade was led by Raven Rosa-Lasco going 3 for 4 with 1 HR, 4RBI's, and 1 run scored, Jordyn Lono went 3 for 3 with 2RBI's and 2runs, Cami Horner hit a triple and drove in 3 runs, scoing 2 herself, and Cahl Horner went 2 for2, drew a walk and scored 3 runs. Cat Zaragoza, Cahl Horner and Mele Turner teamed up in the circle for the win and although gave up some runs, were backed heavily by the offense.

In the final game of the weekend, the Trojans got another W, and continued the offensive prowess with an 18-7, 4 inning win over the Yaks.

Team leaders were Jordyn Lono 2 for 2, 1 walk, 1 home run, 3 runs & 4 RBI's, Brittnee Harvill went 2 for 2 with a walk, 3 runs and 3 RBI's, Mele Turner was 1 for 1 with 2 walks & 3 runs scored and Jaz McMillar went 2 for 3 with 4 RBI's. Cami Horner and Mele Turner pitched and kept the yak hitters off balance enough to keep the lead and the win.

The first opportunity to see the Trojans in action at home will be Friday, October 18th against Grays Harbor College.  Game times are set for 12pm and 2pm, and will be the last fall scrimmages.
