Head Coach Randy Smith took the helm in 2003, just three years after EvCC's inaugural season in 2000 making him the longest active softball coach in the NWAC compiling over 500 wins at the collegiate level.

Coach Smith has led the Trojans to the NWAC championship tournament 14 times in his 12 seasons, most recently placing in the top six in 2022. Randy has been selected as North Division Coach of the Year 4 times. In 2011, the team placed 2nd and Coach Smith was named NWAC Coach of the Year and was awarded the prestigious National Fastpitch Coaches Association “Coach of the Year”.  In the abbreviated 2021 season due to COVID-19 the team went 20-4, and while there was no official post-season play, the team finished with the best record in the north region, and took home Coach Randy's 2nd North Region Championship.  The team then repeated as North Region Champions in 2022 going 24-4 in north region play with a 34-9 overall record.

His coaching resume spans over 40 years and includes both softball and baseball. Randy and his brother, Assistant Coach Rick Smith have over a 25 years of fastpitch playing experience at the World tournament level.

During their tenure at Everett Community College, they have coached numerous All-American, All-Conference and All-Region players, but they are most proud of the impressive number of All-Academic student athletes and college graduates.
