Women's Basketball- Everett 102, Clackamas 77

Written by NWAC: The 4pm game between the #3 seed from the south,  Clackamas Community College Cougars and the #2 seed from the north, Everett Community College Trojans got off to a blistering start.  The Trojans came out firing in the first quarter jumping out to a 15-5 lead.  The Cougars answered and went on a 14-5 run to end the quarter to trail by one, 20-19. The pace of the  second quarter picked up and saw the Trojans take a 47-40 half-time lead into the locker room .  Led by the outstanding  shooting by Alexis Biggerstaff with 13 points. Tyra Lopez with 9 points, Sydney Taggart and Uju Chibougwu with 8 points each, Everett Community College began to take control.  The Trojans as team shot 50% for the half.  Clackamas Cougars were led by Nicole Hermosillo-Wright and Alia Parsons with 9 points each. Everett went on a tear in the third quarter building an 85-58 lead on 59% shooting from the floor aided by 17 offensive rebounds.  The second half was all Trojans as they continued their torrid team shooting finishing the game shooting 51% from the floor. The Trojans had six players in double figures scoring led by sophomore Uju Chibuowu as she had 18 points, 21 rebounds and 10 assists,  Alex Biggerstaff 20 points on 7-12 shooing,  Aloha Salem 16 points, Nakia Edwards and Tyra Lopez with 15 points each. The Cougars had four players in double figures, Nicole Hermosillo-Wright with 21 points, CJ Buckley 16 points, Kayce Mock with 14 points and Brittany McCormick with 11. Everett moves on to play tomorrow night at 6pm against the winner of the Big Bend Community College Grays Harbor College.
