Biggerstaff on to Northwest University

Biggerstaff on to Northwest University

Alexis Biggerstaff signed an NAIA National Letter of Intent to play basketball next season at Northwest University in Kirkland, Wa.  The Eagles narrowly missed qualifying for the Cascade Conference Tournament last season despite a strong run to close out the regular season, winning 4 of their last 5 games.

Biggerstaff was recruited to play for the Trojans out of Ketchikan, AK where she was a two time 1st team all conference selection out of Ketchikan High School.  In two seasons for the Trojans, Lexi led EvCC to back to back NWAC playoff appearances, including a run to the Elite 8 last season.  Her freshman season she averaged 2 assists, 3.2 rebounds, and 11.9 points per game and was named 2nd team all North Region.  In her sophomore season Biggerstaff started in all 28 games, averaging 3 assists, 3.5 rebounds, 1.6 steals, and 15.7 points per game, shooting 40% from the floor.  She was named 1st team all North Region and her career as a Trojan was highlighted by 20 point, 4 assist, 4 rebound night in the NWAC Tournament 1st round win over Clackamas Community College.

Lexi is 1 of 8 for this year's recruiting class for NU, and 5th year head coach Ken Crawford had this to say about her: "Lexi adds a dimension to our team that will make us better.  A guard/forward combination that has the ability to get to the basket off the drive, pull up and hit the mid-range jumper, and play with her back to the basket.  With previous college experience she will add veteran leadership to the team."
