Trojans Women's Basketball had a fun afternoon on December 27th with Marysville Select Youth Basketball hosting a two hour clinic with girls ranging in ages from 4th through 8th grade. Twenty Eight girls and four coaches from Marysville Select attended, as well as several parents.
The free clinic hosted in the Walt Price Center focused on basketball fundamentals such as moving without the ball, blocking out on free throws, rebounding, passing drills and finished with some fun scrimmages where the youth players played with EvCC basketball players. Beyond just baskeball, EvCC coaches spoke about the importance of education, and making good decisions when difficult situations arise, especially with their peers.
The EvCC Women's Basketball program strives to be positive role models within their community and enjoys opportunities like this one to connect with youth players and share in their passion of the game. EvCC wishes Marysville Select Basketball good luck in their upcoming season and we look forward to seeing them at some Trojan home games this year.
