It was sophomore night for the Trojans as they hosted Peninsula Sunday evening at Walt Price in the final regular season home game for Everett. The Trojans desperately needed a win to keep their post-season hopes alive.
Peninsula got off to a quick 9-0 start that put the Trojans playing from behind early. The Trojans were able to rally back down 11-8 with 3 minutes left in the first but Peninsula would go on another run to end the quarter up 19-11. Peninsula continued to put pressure on the Trojans playing full court defense and would hold the Trojans to only 7 points in the second quarter. The Trojans went down at half 37-18.
Alexa Martin led the Trojans with 20 points and adding 4 rebounds. Hannah Hezekiah had a big game as well scoring 16 points on 5 of 12 shooting and grabbing 7 rebounds.
The Trojans went into the fourth down 56-38. Although the Trojans outscored Peninsula in the second half 33-30, the Trojans deficit at half was too much to come back from. Peninsula was able to match the Trojans in the second half to come out with a 67-51 win as the Trojans play their final regular season game Wednesday at Bellevue.
