Tritons Prevail on Rivalry Night

Everett, WA – The Trojans opened up north region play on Wednesday night with a big match up against rivals Edmonds College.  The Tritons entered the contest with a 6-5 record and had big wins over Centralia, Wenatchee Valley, and Mt. Hood.

Edmonds led by as many as 9 in the first quarter, but the Trojans cut it to four after a 5-0 run to end the period.  The Tritons kept up the pressure and had a big second quarter outscoring Everett 26-13 and took a 48-27 lead going into the half.

The Trojans were plagued by turnovers and giving up too many offensive rebounds in the second half which made it difficult to significantly cut into the deficit.  EvCC outscored Edmonds 19-18 in the 4th quarter, but the visitors got the win 83-59.

Baylor Thomas led Everett with 22 points, and Ashlynd Hunt was the only other Trojan to score in double figures with 10.

Everett will look to bounce back in their second conference game of the season this Saturday with a road trip to Bellevue.  The Bulldogs are 5-11 on the season, but won their north region opener against Olympic, 76-68.
