Near Upset Win for Trojans

After a tough start to North region play, the Trojans got themselves ready for another tough road game against Whatcom.

Freshman goalkeeper Emma Allison, was back from injury for the Trojans, and her presence was immediately felt.  In the first half the Trojans played sound defense allowing just 3 shots on target, Allison saving them all.  Then in the 38th minute, freshman forward Jaylin Baah-Yeboah broke free and put the Trojans up 1-0 going into the half.  It was Jaylin's 3rd goal on the season and her first in North region play.

The Orcas increased pressure in the 2nd half, and got a quick goal, six minutes in to tie the game at 1-1.  The Orcas would continue to control possesion in the 2nd half, generating nine shots to Everett's three.  Allison came up with six more saves in the 2nd half, but eventually Whatcom was able to score in the 82nd minute, and hold off the Trojans to preserve the win.

Emma's nine saves ties her season high in just her 3rd full game of the season.  EvCC looks to bounce back against Shoreline CC on Wednesday and pick up their first win in North Region play.
