Trojans Pick Up First North Region Win

Trojans returned home Wednesday afternoon, after narrowly defeating Whatcom last weekend to face the Dolphins of Shoreline Community College.  EvCC controlled possession early and it would be the Trojans that would strike first.  Jaylin Baah-Yeboah scored ten minutes into the game, finding the back of the net for the second straight game and her 4th goal of the season.  Lauren Dowdell was credited with the assist, her first of the season.

EvCC was able to get 11 shot attempts in the first half, but only two were on frame, the Shoreline keeper able to collect both of them.

In the second half, Courtney Arnold scored on a beautiful strike from well outside the box in the 68th minute, and sophomore midfielder Mayu Nagaike scored her second goal of the season to secure the win.

The Trojan defense was particularly impressive, allowing just 3 shots, two of which were on frame and freshman goalkeeper Emma Allison collected them both.

EvCC improves to 1-3-0 in North Region play and will face Skagit Valley College on Saturday at home.  Kick-off is set for 12:00 pm.
