Late Goals Force Tie

Late Goals Force Tie

Lynnwood, WA - Three weeks ago when the Trojans and Tritons last played, it was Everett that secured two second half goals to come from behind and secure a 2-1 victory.  This time, it would be Edmonds that would come up with late game heroics on their home field with two goals of their own.  The difference in the two games being that the Trojan offense struck ferociously in the first eleven minutes of the game this weekend, and had a 2-0 lead before giving up the late goals.  Though the win would have been preferable, the tie keeps Everett firmly in 2nd place in the North Region Standings, seven points behind first place Peninsula and two points ahead of third place Whatcom.

Sophomore transfer Olivia Lee (a Marysville native) scored both goals for the Trojans, the first one in the 9th minute off of a well placed pass from sophomore Caitlynn Daniel, and the second just two minutes later when she connected on a header from a cross from her Marysville Pilchuck high school teammate Peyton Nolte.  The two goals for Lee give her five on the season, and the 9th of her collegiate career.

Goalkeeper Emma Allison collected 5 saves, giving her 70 total for the season, 3rd most in the NWAC.

The draw credits both teams with one point in the North Region Standings, and 0.5 points in the "T" Trophy Series between the rival schools, seperated by just 11 miles.

Everett will play their next home game on Wednesday, October 2nd at home against Shoreline.  The Dolphins are most recently coming off of a 5-1 loss to first place Peninsula, but prior to that defeat, they tied Whatcom 1-1 and defeated Edmonds 2-0.  Kickoff is set for 1:30pm at Kasch Park.
