Olivia Lee NATYCAA Scholar Athlete Finalist

NATYCAA (National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators) has announced the 2020 Scholar Athlete Team, 18 individuals comprised of one male and one female from nine geographic districts representing the national organization.  The nine individuals for each gender will be the finalists for the Male/Female Scholar Athlete of the Year, awarded annually at the NATYCAA National Convention.  This year's convention has been canceled due to COVID-19, however winners will still be announced sometime in June at the conclusion of the academic year.  Olivia Lee along with Travis Bossio (golf) of Grays Harbor College will be the male and female representatives from NATYCAA's 9th district.

Olivia, a sophomore midfielder on the EvCC women's soccer team graduated from Everett with her Associates of Arts degree in the Fall of 2019 with Honors and is already enrolled at Western Washington University where she will major in Elementary Education.  She will also be a member of the women's soccer team, a powerhouse program that advanced to the NCAA DII National Championship game in 2019 and won the national championship as recently as 2016.

A Marysville native, Olivia attended Highline College her freshman year but transferred to Everett CC for her sophomore season, where she tallied 9 goals and 8 assists, the 4th most in a single season in EvCC women's soccer history.  She has excelled academically, making the President's list four times while attending EvCC.

This is the first time since the award began in 1992 that an Everett Community College athlete has been named as a finalist for the national award, and if selected would be the first athlete in the NWAC (male or female) to be named NATYCAA Scholar Athlete of the Year.
