Home Sweet Home

Everett, WA - In the first home game of the season, Everett came away with a huge 2-0 victory of Whatcom CC.  The win marked the first victory over the Orcas since October 3rd, 2018.  Everett struck early in the 8th minute when Amalia Ocampo sent a beutiful through pass to a streaking Emily Marriott.  Marriott made a move to clear space from a Whatcom defender and sent a left footed cross that found Tori Bullard at the far corner of the goal box.  Tori made one touch to sophomore transfer Ali Krediet who sent it in to the back of the net.

Less than ten minutes later Krediet would get another shot on goal just outside the 18 that bounced off the crossbar.  A Whatcom defender cleared the ball, but freshman midfielder Paige Bowcut won a foot race to the ball from 25 yards out and sent a beautifully arching shot over the outstretched arms of the Orca keeper to put the Trojans up 2-0.

From there the Trojan defense held solid anchored by sophomore centerback Cassidy Gamble.  Whatcom ended the game recording 8 shots on goal, though none truly challenged freshman goalkeeper Yaritza Pelayo who recorded the 8 saves.

Everett improved to 1-0-1 on the season and will face Skagit Valley on Thursday April 15th at home.
