Trojans Rally and take down Rival Edmonds

The Trojans hosted Edmonds in a T-Cup matchup Saturday night at Walt Price. The Trojans sitting at 1-1 in conference play looked to tie up Edmonds in the division. Both teams started off the game on fire finishing the first quarter 19-15 Edmonds. Three Trojan starters played a full game for the Trojans with only two subs. The Trojans shot 37% from the field on the night and shot very well as a team from the free throw line going 29-37.

At halftime the Tritons had the edge on the Trojans by a score of 34-28. The Trojans head coach Chet Hovde in his 33rd season rallied his girls to a strong second half. The Trojans outscored Edmonds 26-11 in the third quarter. Hannah Hezekiah had a momentum shifting block followed by a 3 at the other end in the second half that the team rallied around. Hannah Hezekiah had 30 points on the night. Serafina Balderas and Kelsey Mellick also tallied a combined 26 points.

The story of the night was the Trojans relentless defense which forced 18 turnovers. Edmonds could come back from their third quarter deficit and the Trojans ended up taking the victory and another win toward the T-Cup by a score of 75-65.
