Sophomore Night at Larry Walker Court

It was Sophomore Night for the Trojans at Larry Walker Court. Everett hosted Bellevue in their final home game of the season. The Trojans looked to send Serafina off with a win as the entire team came out ready to play. In the first quarter the Trojans outscored Bellevue 26-15. Kelsey Mellick was on fire in the first quarter scoring 20 of those points.

On the game Kelsey Mellick went for 50 points  along with 9 rebounds doing it all for the Trojans.The previous record held was 45 points in a single game. Serafina Balderas had 19 before fouling out on her last night with the Trojans after a great career here at EvCC.

Bellevue was able to regain a double digit lead for much of the second half. In the final minutes, the Trojans fought their way back. After going shot for shot with Bellevue, the Trojans found themselves tied at 74 with 56 seconds left. Serafina was called for a foul followed by a technical, giving Bellevue a 1-point lead. Moments later, Mellick found the ball and was able to connect on a mid-range jumper to take the lead by 1.  Bellevue was then able to regain the lead 77-76 after a couple of free throws. On the throw in after the made free throws, Bellevue mistakenly fouled Mellick where she was able to tie the game after going 1 of 2. With a wild ending and a few scrambles, the game went into overtime as Bellevue missed a final shot attempt as time expired.

With Morgan Marshall and Serafina Balderas fouled out, the Trojans played overtime with only 4. The Trojans were able to keep it close. Down 4 points the Trojans were forced to foul Bellevue with 40 seconds to go. Bellevue was able to knock down some free throws and win the game 92-84 putting an end to the Trojan season.
