Mellick Leads Trojans over South Puget Sound 78-42

The Trojans hosted South Puget Sound Tuesday night in a non-conference matchup. The Trojans set the tone for the game early jumping out to a 14-4 lead in the first quarter and never lost the lead.

Kelsey Mellick went to work and put up 18 points and 8 rebounds on 8-18 shooting. Alexa Martin finished with 13 points and Hannah Hezekiah with 12 points. Coming off the bench Larsa Guzman shot 5-9 and finished with 11 points as the Trojans went on to win 78-42.

The Trojans now 4-1 put on a dominating performance Tuesday night shooting the ball 40% from the field. Although the Trojans only had, three 3-point shots fall, as a team the Trojans dominated down low scoring 60 points in the paint as a team.

In just 18 minutes of play, Trinidee Kahunahana shot 4-6 scoring 9 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 steals. Kelsey Mellick would also contribute 3 steals as the Trojans continued to put pressure on Puget Sound all night.

The Trojans look to continue their two game winning streak this weekend as they host the Everett CC WBB Classic at Larry Walker Court. The Trojans will face Green River Friday at 8pm in their first matchup.
