Randy Montgomery

Randy Montgomery competed in football and track at Everett.  He competed at the state level in the 440 relay, broad and triple jumps, and the 100 and 220 yard dashes.  In 1967, Montgomery averaged more than 20 points per meet.  He recorded a 9.6 time in the 100 yard dash, breaking the school record.  He also came close to the state record in the triple jump, recording a 45’1/2” jump, just 2 ½ inches off the record.

Montgomery was a member of the 1966-1967 football teams, both have also been inducted into the EvCC Hall of Fame.  He lead the league in rushing on the '66 team that shared the state championship with Columbia Basin College and led the  1967 team to an outright championship.  He transferred to Weber State College, and is in that school’s Hall of Fame.  Drafted in the seventh round of the 1970 NFL draft, he signed with the Denver Broncos and became a starter at defensive safety and dangerous kick returner.  After three years with the Broncos, he finished his NFL career after one season with the Chicago Bears.
