Ten Trojans Score in Win Over Clippers

Olympia, WA – The men's basketball team was back in action Saturday afternoon, on the road against South Puget Sound CC.  The 5-1 Trojans went back and forth with the Clippers through much of the first half and trailing 14-15 through the first five minutes.  The game was tied at 30 with five minutes to play, but EvCC went on a 15-8 run capped by a Trey Miles three inside the final 30 seconds.  SPSCC hit a shot as time expired and the halftime lead would be five.  Nine different Trojans scored, led by Cam Millican's 9 points, and Christian Zamora's 7 off the bench.

Everett pushed the lead out to 10 early on in the second half and held that cushion before pushing the lead out to as much as 19 with six minutes remaining.  The Clippers brought it back to 10 with two minutes to play, but that's as close as it would get and Everett cruised to the 85-73 win.  Brendon Redford led EvCC with 15 points and 8 rebounds, also dishing out 3 assists.  Cam Millican and Brycen Dillworth were the other starters to score in double figures with 12 and 11 respectively.  Off the bench JT Smith and Raefe McEnroe each scored 8, and Christian Zamora put up 9 on 4-5 shooting.

Everett shot a solid 54% from the field, including 9-18 from downtown and also converted on 16 of 20 from the free throw line.  The Trojans move to 6-1 on the season and will return home next Friday, December 10th to take on Spokane CC.  Everett saw Spokane earlier this season at the Lower Columbia College tournament, and came away with a 77-63 win.  Tip off is set for 7:00pm.
