Lakewood, WA - Under first year head coach Kieren Raney, the Trojans went 2-1 in non-conference play before falling in their first "league" match to Highline.  League is in quotations because this year the west region and north region was combined to make one region for scheduling purposes.  The five men's teams in the north will play the five men's teams in the west in a single match to round out a 15 game "league" schedule.  All matches will count for points towards qualification to the NWAC playoff, but each region (both the north and the west) will get three bids to the NWAC tournament against the top three teams from the east and the top three teams from the south.

After a tough first league game at home to a solid Highline program, Everett looked for a bounce back game on the road against Pierce, and the juices were flowing.  In the first minute of the game, Dani Amador got off a shot on goal, and that was followed up by three more shots that tested the Pierce defense.  Eventually Everett got one past the Raider goalkeeper in the 25th minute, and Ferley Cork scored his first collegiate goal.  Fifteen minutes later, Duglas Cruz connected with River Stewart for the second time this season to put the Trojans up 2-0.  With minutes to go in stoppage time in the first half, Everett drew a foul in the box to earn a PK, in which redshirt freshman Liam Raney capitalized for his 2nd career goal and first of the 2021 fall campaign.

The second half would continue to be dominated by Everett, and sophomore captain Dani Amador final got one of his shots on frame past the keeper for his 2nd goal of the season off of a free kick cross from Leo Jaramillo.  For Leo, the sophomore transfer from Southwestern Oregon CC, it was his first career assist as a Trojan.

Pierce would eventually get on the board when a free kick into the box was not cleared by the Trojan defense, but Everett would seal the deal moments later with a final goal in the 85th minute by Nacho Pedrosa, assisted by Ferley Cork.

The 5-1 win was just what the doctor ordered, moving the Trojans to 3-2 on the season and 1-1 in region play.  They play next on Saturday at home again Tacoma CC who is coming off of a 2-0 loss to Peninsula.  Kick off is set for 6:15pm on Saturday, September 18th at Kasch Park.
