Men's Soccer Season Preview

Men's Soccer Season Preview

The Men's Soccer team is less than 1 week away from their first regular season match of the 2022 season. Everett is looking to build off last season's quarter final finish which saw them lose to Tacoma in penalties. EvCC is returning some key starters in River Stewart, Liam Raney & Victor Aguilar, while also adding depth in every position on the field. With debatably the toughest region of league play, the Trojans will have to battle to earn their playoff berth in the North. Coach Raney, who is in his 2nd season as head coach, is vying to take this squad to new levels of play & challenge for the top spot in the North region.

"I am very excited with the group so far. We have a few familiar faces that you will surely recognize, but many new ones as well. This freshmen class is very exciting with a collection of local & out of state guys that are ready to prove themselves. The goal after last year was to not be content with a quarterfinal finish, but rather work extremely hard to move past that stage. So we recruited some top-level local and out of state talent which will help us achieve this goal. EVCC men's soccer has never made it past the quarterfinal's, we are aiming to be the first group to do that. We are training extremely hard and are ready to battle the top teams in our conference to reach our goal."

The Everett Men's Soccer team is returning from Portland, Oregon with a pair of scrimmage wins over Multnomah University & Portland Community College and will get the opportunity to play in their first regular season match at the NWAC Friendlies on August 23rd against Portland Community College. Then later on in the week, regional matches (matches counting towards playoff qualification) will begin with Tacoma CC, the team who knocked them out of playoffs last year.
