Hits and Runs Galore

Lacey, WA - The Trojan Softball team went 3-1 over the weekend improving their record on this young season to 5-1. It was an offensive showcase, as the team scored 61 runs, on 58 hits, including 9 doubles and 12 homeruns.  Jordyn Lono stood out with an impressive .769 average, with 10 hits and driving in 11 runs.  Isabelle Hansen got the bat going and led the team in hits on the weekend with 11 while also driving in 9 runs and hit two home runs.  Madison German was the RBI Queen with 16 in the four games, and also held a power bat with 4 homeruns.  In the circle, sophomore pitcher Serina Penrod was solid with a 0.55 era in 12.2 innings pitched.  She only gave up 5 hits, 1 earned run and struck out 11 batters.  

The Trojans will play their first home game of the 2023 season on Wednesday against Olympic College, opening up north region play.  The doubleheader is set for 2pm and 4pm at Gaffney Field.
