Several PR's in Weekend Meets

Tacoma, WA – Over the weekend the Trojan Track and Field program had athletes compete in two meets, the Buc Scoring Multi Events hosted by Whitworth University in Spokane, WA and the Peyton-Shotwell Invite hosted by the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA. 

Four athletes competed in Spokane.  Aiden Luhr set two PR's in the 100m and 200m running 11.37s and 23.59s respectively.  Those marks rank 10th and 17th in the NWAC.  On the women's side, Mattason Straub also competed in the 100m and 200m, setting a new PR in the 200m at 26.83.  That time now ranks her 2nd in the NWAC, .66 seconds behind the top time. 

Jamira Barnes and Logan Marlow were the lone two athletes to compete in the multi events.  Logan Marlow did not finish after scoring in 7 of 10 events, but Jamira completed the heptathlon with her best event being the high jump, where she placed 5th, jumping 4'9". 

In Tacoma, a couple of athletes made their Trojan track debut's.  Jessica Daode had a strong first showing competing in both the 100m and 200m.  She placed 4th and 7th respectively with times of 13.23 and 27.15.  Those times currently rank 8th and 6th fastest in the NWAC.  Devyn Martin in her first collegiate meet won the high jump event with a mark of 5'3" and now holds the highest mark in the NWAC by ¾". 

Sophomore Tracey Hatch set a new 200m PR, running 27.14 and moving up to 5th on the NWAC performance list. And freshman Iayanah Brewer broke her previous 100m hurdle time by over a second, running 16.42 and moving her current ranking up to number 2 in the NWAC. 

On the men's side, Christopher Gray broke a couple of PR's in the 100m and 200m, running 11.58 and 22.82.  His 200m time moves him up to #7 in the performance rankings.  Alec Dimick and Tyler Buck both ran nearly identical 800m times, Dimick at 2:03.24 and Buck at 2:03.99.  Both of those marks are PR's and move them up to 8th and 9th on the NWAC performance list respectively.  Javon Gray competed in both the long jump and triple jump, hitting 49'4.5" which is a new triple jump PR for Javon and keeps him ranked a top the NWAC by over three feet. 

The Trojans' next meet will be on April 9th, at the Jay Hammer Invite hosted by Saint Martin's University.
