Six Trojans Take First in Nine Events at Northwest Region Meet

Bremerton, WA - In the final meet prior to the NWAC Championships, the Trojans showcased at least six different athletes that have an opportunity to stand atop the podium across nine different events next week for the season finale.  

On the women's side, two competitors won two different events.  Devyn Martin won both the high jump and the long jump with marks of 1.47 meters and 5.15 meters respectfully.  Devyn's high jump PR of 1.60 meters is currently an NWAC best and her new mark of 5.15 meters in the long jump is a PR and moves her up to 5th on the NWAC performance list this season. She also set a new PR in the 100m with a time of 13.28 and currently sits at #12 on the NWAC peformance list, qualifying for the NWAC Championships.    Tracey Hatch won both the 200m and 400m with times of 26.70 and 1:01.22 respectively.  Those were both PR's for Tracey and place her currently ranked 5th in the 200m and 3rd in the 4oom.  Mattason Straub won the 100m and set a new PR, running 12.47 which is currently ranked 2nd by .06 seconds.  

On the men's side, Drew Hill won both the 100m and 200m.  His 200m time of 22.05 was a new PR and moved him up to 4th in the NWAC rankings.  Javon Gray who currently leads the NWAC in the Triple Jump, only competed in the long jump winning that event with a mark of 6.82 meters, a quarter of a meter less than his season PR of 7.07m which is currently 2nd in the NWAC.  Markell Carter won the triple jump event with a mark of 12.49 meters, though lower than his season best of 13.19 meters (5th in the NWAC). 

Other performances of note were Aiden Luhr, setting a new PR in the 100m at 11.08 (8th in the NWAC), Jessica Daode setting a new PR in the 100m at 12.62 (4th in the NWAC), Iayanah Brewer ran 16.38 in the 100m hurdles setting a new PR for herself and moving up to 5th on the performance list, and Livii Fetterley set a new PR in the long jump at 4.65 meters (9th in the NWAC) as well as a PR in the shot put at 10.45m (5th in the NWAC).

Additionally the women's 4x100 team (Straub, Fetterley, Hatch, Daode) ran 49.94 which is currently ranked 2nd in the NWAC and tied for 3rd all time at EvCC and the men's 4x400 team (Buck, Marlow, Dimick, Hill) ran 3:35.14 which is currently 6th in the NWAC.
