Everett, WA – T - Trophy points were back on the line in the first Everett/Edmonds match up since volleyball season. The Trojans coming off a fresh win on the road over Bellevue and one of their best offensive performances of the season.
It was a fast-paced start to the game, both teams going toe to toe on the offensive end and shooting over 40% from the floor. It would be Everett to come out on top at the quarter break with a 20-15 lead, highlighted by Sydney VanNess, who shot a perfect 4-4, including two made threes.
Quarter number two featured more up and down action, but Everett utilized a 12-2 run to close out the half which created some separation, giving EvCC an 18-point lead going into the break.
The Trojans continued to outscore Edmonds in the 3rd quarter, but a four-minute scoring drought by Everett seemed to give the Tritons a little bit of momentum heading into the fourth, even though the lead was stretched to 20. Kinslee Gallatin had a nice quarter, scoring 7 of her 17 points.
Edmonds was able to outscore Everett in the final period, 16-14 but the Trojans put it on cruise control in the final few minutes winning by a final score of 69-51.
Sydney VanNess finished with 21 points on 8-18 shooting and coming up with 5 steals. Courtney Perry finished with 14 points and 9 rebounds, and a big game off the bench for Kinslee Gallatin scoring 17 on 7-13 shooting.
Everett moves to 2-1 in north region play, and will enjoy the weekend off as they will return home next Wednesday, February 2nd to face Olympic College. Tip off is set for 5pm.
