Women's Hoops Falls to Edmonds

Women's Hoops Falls to Edmonds

Everett, WA – The Trojans hosted Edmonds College on Wednesday night on Larry Walker court, and though both teams have struggled this season during north region play, there was plenty to play for in this rivalry game.  Beyond pride, T-Trophy points were on the line.

Neither offense had a good start to the game, and Edmonds led 4-0 in the first five minutes of action.  The Trojans finally got it going, rattling of nine points with five from Grace Trichler to close out the quarter.  Everett entered the 2nd quarter trailing 14-9, but Trichler opened up with a three on the first possession to get within two, and then Maddy Thoma converted an and one to give the Trojans the lead. Edmonds regained control with a 17-2 run and went into the half with a 36-26 lead.  Trichler led the Trojans in the half with 10 points and Maddy Thoma, had 10 first half rebounds.

The Trojan offense was more productive to start the 3rd quarter, but defensively could not slow Edmonds, and the deficit climbed to 18 by the first media timeout.  By the end of the quarter Edmonds built the lead out to 24 and kept that momentum going into the 4th.  By the final buzzer the Tritons got the victory 84-53.

It was a tough shooting night, going just 31% from the floor, and 5 of 26 from three.  Maddy Thoma ended the game with 13 points, and Jayda Pittman and Grace Trichler each added 10.

Everett has one home game remaining, Saturday, February 25th against Olympic for sophomore day.  Tip off is set for 2pm.
