Trojan Volleyball Recruiting Class

Everett, WA - EvCC women's volleyball coach, Whitney Williams, announces the signing of five student-athletes to join the program for the 2021 season.

The Trojans' 2021 recruiting class includes middle blocker Sarah Campfield, outside hitter Erin Ingram, outside hitter Kiersten Griffen, setter and defensive specialist Angelina Jaramillo, and outside hitter/opposite Devon McHenry.

Head coach Whitney Williams expresses her excitement about the 2021 class, "Each of these athletes will have an immediate impact offensively and add a competitive fire to the program. They are high character individuals and high achievers on and off the court. They are excited about the program we are building and eager to make their mark." 

Sarah Campfield, a 6 foot middle blocker from Snohomish, Washington and four year starter for Snohomish High School, led her team to the State tournament each year earning 8th place and 5th place finishes. She was named WESCO All-League second team and The Everett Herald All-Area team with an impressive 65 total solo blocks in a season.

A WESCO All-League first team 6 foot outside hitter, Erin Ingram, was named Max Preps Player of the Week and Max Preps Player of the Match last season. She was a starter at Henry M. Jackson High School in Mill Creek, Washington for three years and played an integral role in the volleyball team's success over the course of her career. 

A native of Lake Stevens, Washington, Kiersten Griffen, a 6'1 outside hitter, had an impressive club career playing for well-known clubs in the area including Washington Volleyball Academy. Coming from an athletic family, she is following in the footsteps of her older sister, a former basketball player for Gonzaga University, by becoming a college athlete. 

Angelina Jaramillo is a beach volleyball transfer from Arizona Christian University and former standout setter from Skyline High School in Sammamish, Washington. Angelina has been team captain for both high school and club teams throughout her career. She was the starting setter at Skyline High School making a 4A State Championship appearance in 2017. She earned the title of MVP her senior year and 4A Most Assists in King County. She played club for Dakine Volleyball Club, placing 5th place at JVA Indoor Nationals and found success at many beach tournaments for the same club. 

A 5'8 opposite from Cortez, Colorado, Devon McHenry rounds out the recruiting class with an impressive resume.  Playing for Montezuma-Cortez High School as a four-year Varsity player, three-year, six rotation starter, she helped lead her team to the regional qualifier for three years. She earned Academic All State first team in 2019 and 2020 as well as 2020 All Conference second team. As captain, she helped her team to a third place finish in the 2020 state tournament. She played for various clubs including Four Corners Volleyball Club (2018-2020) and 3 Rivers Volleyball Club (2020-2021). She helped her club teams earn a first place finish at the No Dinx/Far Western National Qualifier in 2019, first place finish at the Blizzard Seeding Tournament in 2020, and first place finish in the March seeding tournament in 2020. 

Williams says of the upcoming season, "Expect to see a new Everett Community College volleyball program. We have worked to bring in athletes that are motivated and fired up to start a new chapter for volleyball at EvCC along with our returners. Each of our athletes are excited to put in the work to make this a winning program ant it's only the beginning…"
