women's cross country race in monmouth oregon.

Monmouth, OR - The men's and women's cross country team was back in action this past weekend, and once again traveled south to the Ash Creek Reserve for another meet hosted by Western Oregon University.  The women's race was a 6k course and featured primarily NCAA Division II schools, but also some Division I's such as Portland State and Eastern Washington University.  Three schools from the NWAC entered runners including Clackamas CC, Chemeketa CC, and Everett Community College.  For the Trojans, two athletes competed and redshirt freshman Patience Mwaura would finish first among all community college competitors with a time of 26.12 in her first ever collegiate 6k.  Marcella Fuller was the other EvCC women's competitor and she posted a time of 36:34 in her first ever collegiate 6k race.

In the men's 8k, the Trojans finished just two points behind NAIA Multnomah University and five points behind NCAA DII Alaska Fairbanks.  Adolfo De Robles once again lead the Trojan squad finishing with a time of 28.13.4, 78th overall and 1st among all community college runners.  Redshirt freshman Ryan Barene finished with a time of 29:50 which was 3rd among CC runners.  Rounding out the scoring for EvCC was Josiah Nobles (5th among CC's), Elijah Roberts (6th among CC's), and Alec Dimick (7th among CC's).

The men will get another opportunity to run in their 2nd 8k of the season next weekend at the NWAC Preview meet at Chambers Bay, while the women will run in their first 5k of the season.  Both teams look to have the full roster available for the meet and post team scores against some of the best competition the NWAC has to offer.
