Justice Funston, a freshman on the Men's Track & Field Team, from Monroe High School in Monroe, WA, is our Male Athlete of the Week. Justice scored 5320 points in his first career decathalon at the Pacific University Multi Events. That landed in him 14th place at the meet and 6th amongst NWAC competition. In his top event, he ran the 1500m in 4:49.45 and placed in 3rd. He place 5th in the pole vault, with a jump of 13' 7", which is a new PR (personal record) for him. At the meet, Justice set new PR's in all but one event. The only event he didn't was the discus, where he was just 9" from a new PR. Justice sits in 7th in the NWAC in the long jump. He could qualify in the long jump and possibly two other events for the NWAC Championships.
