EvCC Hall of Fame Coach Harry Simmermacher returned four players from the 1955 state championship men's golf team and made another successful championship run in 1956, capturing Everett Junior College's ninth title. State medalist honors in 1956 were shared by Everett's Bob Brill and Jim Buselt. While the regular season record was a below-average 4-5, the team peaked at the state tournament and won that match easiy. Players included Brill, Buselt, Gordon Carpenter, Rich Moneymaker, Ken Mundy, and Michael Ahern.
