Three Wins and a Rain Out

Three Wins and a Rain Out

The 4-game series with Douglas College (New Westminster, BC) began with a rain out postponement on Saturday up in Canada, and then a halted game due to rain on Sunday in Everett.  Play would resume from the halted game in the bottom of the 5th inning that was started in Everett back in Canada on Monday, and the two teams would proceed to play out a full 2.5 games.  Despite all the adversity of game time changes, delays, cancellations, and travel, the Trojans came away with three big wins, which keeps them in first place in North Region Standings.  Colton Richards had breakout games and Charlie Larson continued his strong offensive production.  In three games Richards, 4 for 11 with 4 RBI's, scored 2 runs, and recorded a double and a walk.  Larson went 3 of 9 with a .571 on base percentage, drove in 4 runs and scored 3 runs.   On the mound, Zach Boswell had another quality start giving up just one hit in 6 shut-out innings, and struck out 8.

  • Colton Richards, 1 for 2 with an RBI double

Game 3, 9-0 Win at Douglas

Game 4 was scheduled to be made up today in Everett but more rain in the forecast caused another postponement. The final game of the series will be made up on another date to be determined.

The Trojans next series is this Saturday and Sunday against Skagit Valley.  The Cardinals are 4-5 in region play, 14-13 on the season and have a solid defense, allowing the 10th fewest number of runs scored of all NWAC teams.
