Everett, WA – The Trojans hosted a four game home stand over the weekend against Bellevue College after a 4-0 series sweep of Olympic College last weekend.
The first game on Saturday was a defensive battle. Sophomore Zach Boswell out of Snohomish went 6 shutout innings and giving up only 1 hit. Everett did all the damage they would need in the 3rd when Jordan Justice tripled, driving in a run, and then would later come home on a wild pitch. The Trojans held on for the 2-1 win.
The Bellevue bats came alive in the 2nd game scoring 8 runs on 11 hits in contrast, the Everett offense continued to struggle scoring 3 runs on just 3 hits, and dropping game two, 8-3.
The first game on Sunday, had some hangover from the previous day, and it was a game to forget for EvCC as Bellevue poured on hit after hit and cruised to a 17-3 win. Aaron Barber was perhaps the lone bright spot going 2-4, with a double and driving in 2 runs.
In the series finale, the Trojans bounced back in epic fashion. Freshman Luke VonGoedert out of Kentlake took the mound and went 5 innings giving up 3 runs on 4 hits. But it was the offense that finally came alive, generating 10 runs on 8 hits. Bellevue was able to string a few runs together but it was not enough and Everett salvaged the series split with a 10-6 victory.
The Trojans will have next weekend off, and will take on Edmonds the following weekend April 24th and 25th.
