Everett, WA - The Trojans were back in action at Funko Field, hosting a Friday doubleheader after sweeping Yakima the previous weekend in a four-game series.  Everett hosted the Trailblazers of Centralia College on Friday, who split their opening weekend series with Wenatchee Valley. The Trojans then traveled to Centralia on Saturday to complete a four game series.  

Game 1 Summary

Everett kept the unbeaten streak going and secured a gritty 4-2 victory. Despite an early deficit, Everett's resilience shined as they took control in the later innings.

A combination of timely hitting, aggressive baserunning, and stellar pitching proved to be the difference. The offense capitalized on opportunities, while the pitching staff silenced Centralia's bats, allowing just four hits and striking out 11. A late go-ahead double and shutdown relief work sealed the win.

Game 2 Summary

The steady rain continued which shortened game two to just a five inning game. Still, the Everett offense wasted no time, scoring three runs in the first inning and adding three more in the fourth to put the game out of reach, winning 6-2. Meanwhile, Everett's dominant pitching and solid defense held Centralia to just three hits and two runs. Blake Sandvik (W, 2-0) delivered another stellar outing, striking out six and allowing just three hits over five innings.

With a well-balanced attack on both sides of the ball, Everett improves to 5-0 and continues to show why they are a force to be reckoned with this season.

Game 3 Summary

In the first road game of the season, Everett continued their dominance, cruising to a 14-2 victory. After falling behind early, Everett's explosive fourth inning turned the game around.

Despite Centralia taking a 2-0 lead in the first inning, Everett responded with a six-run fourth, highlighted by a three-run home run from Micah Coleman. The offense stayed relentless, adding late insurance runs to secure the blowout win. On the mound, Chase Halvorson (W, 1-0) was lights out, throwing 5.1 shutout innings with six strikeouts.

With the victory, Everett improves to 7-0, continuing to prove they are a team to beat this season.

Game 4 Summary

Everett remains unbeaten after withstanding a late game comeback from Centralia. 

Everett jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning thanks to a three-run homer by Cal Pickhardt. They extended their lead to 6-0 after four innings, but Centralia mounted a five-run rally in the seventh to tie the game at 6-6. Everett responded in the final two frames, with an Axel Puls sacrifice fly in the eighth and a two-run single by Baylor Hill in the ninth sealing the win.

On the mound, Basil Hendrix (W, 1-0) was stellar, throwing five no-hit innings before Centralia found life in the later innings. Cooper McBride (Sv, 1) shut the door in the ninth, striking out three to secure the win.

Pitching Performances

Heading into next weekend the unbeaten Trojans will be tested against Spokane CC.  The Sasquatch are off to a 2-2 start and are pre season ranked #4 while the Trojans entered 2025 with a #5 ranking.  This promises to be the top NWAC matchup of the weekend.  Doubleheaders are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at Funko Field in Everett.  First pitch is 2pm on Saturday, and 12pm on Sunday.
