Starting Pitching Dominate for Trojans

Everett, WA - Everett took the four-game series over Skagit Valley, winning three of four behind strong pitching and timely offense. In the opener on Saturday, Chase Halvorson set the tone with six quality innings and Talan Zenk led the way at the plate with three hits and an RBI in a 5–2 win. Game two was the lone stumble for Everett, as they managed just two hits despite a 10-strikeout outing from Blake Sandvik, falling 3–2 after a pair of late unearned runs. The Trojans bounced back in game three with a 5–2 victory, sparked by Micah Coleman's two RBIs and Axel Puls' bases-clearing double.  Adison Mattix threw seven shutout innings to earn the win. The series finale was a statement win, with Everett cruising to a 10–3 victory powered by a dominant 12-strikeout performance from Basil Hendrix. Micah Coleman and Talan Zenk continued their hot hitting, contributing to an offensive explosion. With the series win, Everett improved their conference standing and showcased impressive depth both on the mound and at the plate.

The Trojans took the four game series, and completed the season series against Skagit 4-2.  The Trojans move up to 12-4 in conference play sitting tight with Bellevue (12-2) at the top of the north region standings.  Everett will take on Douglas next weekend in a four game set with two in Canada on Saturday, and back in Everett on Sunday.  The Trojans rolled over the Royals in their previous meetings, 10-3 and 9-0.
