Lynnwood, WA - The Trojans split the regular season doubleheader finale with rival Edmonds, but it was enough to secure the programs second straight north region title and the 7th one in the past 10 seasons. Everett entered the day knowing that two wins would clinch the region, but when news broke of Bellevue dropping a game to Skagit Valley, Everett knew that a single win would do the job.
Everett's lineup delivered in full force in game one, behind a 16-hit offensive showcase and solid pitching performances from Blake Sandvik and Cooper McBride. The combination of hitting and pitching propelled Everett to the 8-4 win.
Catcher Jake Lockwood headlined the offense, launching a two-run home run in the third inning to break a 1–1 tie and give Everett the lead for good. Lockwood finished the day 2-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored, anchoring a lineup that saw contributions from top to bottom.
Leadoff hitter Colin Beazizo ignited the Everett offense early and often, reaching base three times while collecting two hits, driving in a run, scoring twice, and swiping two bases. His energy at the top of the order set the tone for an aggressive and efficient offensive outing.
Outfielder Max Paterson delivered a crucial two-RBI single in the sixth inning to extend Everett's lead to 5–3. He finished with two hits and a team-high two runs batted in. Axel Puls also chipped in with a pair of hits and an RBI in a strong showing from the designated hitter spot.
Everett's offense continued to apply pressure in the later innings, capitalizing on a wild pitch in the seventh and executing a sacrifice fly and RBI single to pull away from Edmonds.
On the mound, Blake Sandvik earned the win, tossing five innings of three-run ball, allowing just three hits and striking out two. Cooper McBride followed with four effective innings of relief, scattering four hits while striking out four to close out the game.
Game two did not feature Everett's best effort as they dropped the final game of the season, but sights were already set on clinching the automatic bid to the final eight in Longview. As the #1 seed from the North region, EvCC will play the winner of the south super regional bracket which features East #4 Yakima Valley College, West #3 Clark College, and South #2 Umpqua CC. That game is set for Thursday, May 22nd at 12:35pm in Longview.
