JoJo Howie, an Everett Trojan alumnus and 2013 NWAC Champion, is entering his 4th season as the Head Baseball Coach at Everett Community College where he has compiled a record of 75-36 overall and 33-17 in the always tough NWAC North Region.  Most of that work was done in his first two seasons as only 11 games were played in 2020 before the season was cancelled due to COVID-19.

In his first season at the helm, Howie led the Trojans to a Final 6 appearance in the NWAC Tournament, and followed that year up with a North Region Title, 39 overall wins (tied for the most in program history), and a trip to the NWAC Championship game, falling just short of hoisting the trophy in a tight 2-0 ballgame.  The Trojan’s were recognized by Perfect Game USA  as a Top 25 Junior College program in the country at the conclusion of that season.

JoJo took over the reins in the 2017-2018 season after long time coach Levi Lacey stepped down and accepted the four corners area scout position with the Texas Rangers.   Howie served one season (2016) as an assistant coach under Lacey, a year in which the Trojans won 37 games, claimed the North Region Title, and also advanced to the NWAC Championship game.   In the three complete seasons that JoJo has been in a coaching role with the program, there have been 25 players selected to the All North Region team, 9 All NWAC players, 2 Gold Glovers, 3 ABCA All Americans, 1 North Region Most Valuable Player, and in 2019 JoJo Howie was named the North Region Coach of the Year.

Prior to Howie’s return to Everett CC, he played two seasons in Division I Athletic 10 Conference for Virginia Common Wealth University where he had 30 career starts as a starting pitcher, pitched 6 complete games, with 154 strike outs and a 14-9 record.

The Redmond, Washington was a highly sought after recruit out of Bellevue Christian High School and chose to begin his college career at Everett CC where he played for coach Levi Lacey in 2012 and 2013.  The Trojans won a combined 71 games in those two seasons winning back to back North Region Title’s, and finishing 3rd in 2012 before ultimately winning the programs first NWAC Title since 1966 in his sophomore season.  JoJo pitched in game 3 of the championship tournament where he went 7.2 innings, striking out 4 and giving up 0 runs en-route to a 2-0 win vs Yakima Valley.

The lefty finished his EvCC career in several of the top 10 all-time career stat categories such as: starts, 20 (2nd), innings pitched, 143.2 (2nd), wins 14 (2nd), and strikeouts 112 (3rd).
